Preterit car gar zar worksheet practice
Part 1: Write the correct letter of the spelling change for every infinitive. (15 total)
Example: buscar: to look for / answer: a: c- qu
empezar: to start / answer: c: z-c
Part 2: Choose one -car, one -gar, one -zar infinitive from part 1 and conjugate it for all six persons in the preterit.
Part 3: Answer each question in a complete sentence in the preterit tense (8 total)
Answer key is included for part 1 only. For parts 2 and 3, student answers will vary.

Preterit tense: Sentences with regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs
For each verb type (-ar, -er, -ir) write original sentences using the guidelines below.
Use a different clue word from the list provided (ex: ayer, anoche etc)
Conjugate each verb for the subject provided
Add 4-5 words to expand on the sentence. Sentences should make sense and not be repetitive (using the same words over and over)
Students will write a total of 18 sentences (6 per verb type). A template is provided for students to write their sentences.

This is a quiz on regular -ar, -er, and -ir and -car, -gar, -zar verbs in the preterite tense.
Part 1: Conjugate each verb in the preterit (Students will conjugate 1 -ar, 1 -er, and 1- ir verb for all persons and 1 - car, 1 - gar, and 1 -zar verb in the yo form)
Part 2: Answer the 15 personal questions in a complete sentence in the preterit. (The questions are a combination of yes / no type and information questions using regular -ar, -er, -ir and spelling change verbs).

Practice: Sentence completions with past perfect tense (el pluscuamperfecto)

Complete each sentence in an original manner by using the conjugated form of haber + past participle and add 3-4 additional words to expand on the sentence. Your sentence must make sense.
Students will complete a total of 12 sentences. Notes on the formation of the past perfect tense, past participles, and list of irregular past participles (hecho, abierto etc) is provided for reference.

Imperfect tense: Practice with personal questions
